FAQ

Do you take trade-ins?

Yes. We would be happy to evaluate your piano and determine a fair trade-in value towards another new or used instrument.

Can you consign my piano?

Yes. We receive many requests from our customers to consign their pianos. We take care of all liability and expenses of the sale including picking up and redelivering your piano, tuning, voicing, regulation, cabinet touch-up and/or repair, and tuning and warranties after the sale. This eliminates the stress of our customers having to deal with buyers and inviting strangers into their homes, not to mention the many types of scams that are common today.

Do you sell used pianos?

Yes. We have everything from inexpensive starter pianos to premium vintage Steinway & Sons and other fine European pianos.

What if I want to upgrade to a better instrument in the future?

Gottschalk Piano offers a 100% full trade-up guarantee on any piano purchased from our store. See store for details.

Do you offer piano lessons?

We are working on an exciting adult program that we hope to launch this fall. For kids and teens, we work closely with several established music schools and many private teachers. Once we find out more about you or your student, we can help to find the best program and teacher.

How often should I tune my piano?

Piano manufacturers and tuners recommend tuning your piano at least 1-2 times a year. Not tuning a piano for an extended period of time can cause irreversible damage to the piano.

Can I rent a piano from Gottschalk Piano?

We do offer rental pianos. We rent new Yamaha pianos including uprights, grands, hybrids and digitals. Let us help you to find the best piano for your needs and your budget.

What are gray market pianos?

Gray market Yamaha pianos are commonly found for sale by private parties and by non-authorized Yamaha dealers. The problem with these pianos is that when the piano was manufactured, the wood was not seasoned for the North America. Any new Yamaha pianos sold by authorized Yamaha dealers are seasoned for North America. Do you tune pianos?

We work closely with many independent tuners. We will gladly refer you to a qualified technician who would be convenient in your area.
